I started Massage Training Australia to deliver online compliance training to Australian Massage Therapists.

 

Prior to having my family, I used to work in the corporate world in risk management and WHS. I actually like policies, procedures and checklists.

 

I am a qualified remedial massage therapist and a qualified Trainer and Assessor.  I taught the Cert IV and Diploma for a number of years but became disillusioned with the VET sector.  During my time there, I learnt that there were many highly skilled therapists who had just never been taught what was required to run a safe and compliant massage business in Australia.  No one ever sets out to do the wrong thing, they just don't always know what the right thing is.

During COVID, when Melbourne therapists were unable to work, I studied the Cert III in Individual Support that allowed me work as a Community Aged Care Worker.  This work reinforced my love of working with seniors in our community.

 

 I also set up and run the Facebook Group “Australian Massage Therapists Community”. The running of this group is purely to enable therapists to support each other. You may have seen me say in the past, the hardest thing I have found by being a sole practitioner is how lonely it can be. I hope that the group can hopefully fill that void for some Australian Therapists.
